I can’t get over how much got done yesterday when my middle school maid came over. She is a laundry lunatic – she folded six loads faster than you can say “there’s a stain on this.”
Then she put away the kids’ clothes and organized their dressers.
No, I’m not giving out her name. She’s all mine.
Then she helped Little Cowgirl clean her room (I bet you can guess who did most of the work). And vacuumed it.
Farmer Boy, who wanted to make sure he got some time with her, also insisted his room needed tidying just the two of them.
She ate lunch with us and I took her home, but only because I had to.
Then she gave me high fives and told me what a great time she had. What a terrific example for my kids; hard working, pleasant, great attitude, kind and sincere. I can hardly wait for her to come back!
We are going to cut down our Christmas tree today (the high is 54! Rock on!) and I feel so much more in the spirit of things now that it doesn’t seem like the house is falling down around me.
Okay, not the house. It was the piles of laundry. And having all of it folded and put away (for once. ahem.) inspired me to get to my AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! ironing pile. Maybe I will manage to wrap gifts and make cookies before Christmas eve. Go out and get yourself a middle schooler, all ye harried mommies yearning to not need a drink before 9 am!
