Confession…

I have an announcement to make.  Remember when I posted about my Lenten fast from shopping?

Well, I kind of fell off the wagon.  Even though mud boots were on my list (we call them irrigation boots back home), this wasn’t what I had in mind…and they did cost $5 more than their utilitarian black counterparts.  But gosh, just look at them!  And Cowgirl asked so sweetly, “Mommy, could I please have the pink ones with Hello Kitty instead?”  How could I resist?!

  1. LOL I’ve been eyeing those for my girl, too. They were at Target, weren’t they? Saw them last year, too. Those and these green froggy ones that are cute, too. You simply cannot resist, especially when they ask sweetly and use the word “please.”

  2. We had those froggy ones. Super cute. Not that Cowgirl could be anything but. Keep up the good fight Jess. Falling off the wagon and how I feel after always reminds me why I was trying in the first place, giving me a change to decide if my reasoning was sound. Lenten intentions here going ok, but one is giving me trouble. You posted today that you had lost 16 pounds! I had hoped a lenten diet with Wed and Fri fasting would help me drop 3-4 that seem to cling and cling in all the wrong places. No luck. Sat morning class has me growing muscles and feeling stronger, but the pounds stay put. So close to single digit sizes. ARG!

  3. You can do it, Darlene. It took me from August to December (6mos) to lose those lbs. But I wasn’t trying to do it fast, just trying to make some lifestyle changes…portion control, regular exercise. I so agree with your comment abt falling off the wagon and paying attn to how that feels being a great motivator and chance to examine my motives and understand why it was a good/bad idea in the first place.
